Refund & Cancellation Policy

This template describes how billing, cancellation, and refunds work for AccessExit. Confirm the specifics (especially the refund window) with your own policy and a lawyer before launch.
The short version
- The Free plan is free forever — no card required.
- Paid plans are billed monthly and you can cancel anytime.
- When you cancel, you keep paid features until the end of the current period, then move to Free. Your data and past receipts stay intact.
- During the beta, paid plans are activated manually with no credit card.
1. Plans and billing
AccessExit offers a Free plan and paid Starter ($29/mo) and Team ($49/mo) plans. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as our merchant of record. That means Lemon Squeezy handles the payment, the receipt, and any applicable sales tax or VAT, and appears on your statement.
2. Cancellation
You can cancel from Settings → Billingat any time. Cancellation stops future renewals. You keep your paid features until the end of the billing period you’ve already paid for, and then your workspace returns to the Free plan. We don’t delete your data when you downgrade — though Free-plan limits (people, apps, and features) apply again.
3. Refunds
Because plans are billed monthly and you can cancel before each renewal, we generally do not provide prorated refunds for a partial month. That said, we want you to be happy with AccessExit:
- If you were charged in error, or something went materially wrong, email us within [14 days — TODO: confirm window]and we’ll make it right.
- Refunds, when issued, are processed by Lemon Squeezy back to your original payment method.
- If a charge looks wrong, you can also contact Lemon Squeezy buyer support using the link on your emailed receipt.
4. Upgrades and downgrades
When you upgrade or downgrade between paid plans, your subscription switches plans and Lemon Squeezy prorates the difference automatically. Downgrading to Free cancels the subscription at the period boundary as described above.
5. Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, Lemon Squeezy will retry according to its dunning process. If payment can’t be collected, your workspace may be moved to the Free plan until billing is restored. Your data is preserved throughout.
6. Beta billing
While AccessExitis in beta, hosted checkout may be disabled and paid plans activated manually without a credit card. If that applies to your workspace, there’s nothing to cancel or refund — just email us to change your plan.
